Maybe a lot of readers have heard bout this newcomer MARIE DIGBY, 24 years old Japanese mix Irish - American.
The controversy has strike over saying that she is so wrong to do the homemade video and claimed as an amateur while she is under Hollywood Records' label. It has been suggested by The Wall Street Journal that she feigned a grassroots effort and amateur status in order to generate buzz as part of an online marketing campaign created by Hollywood Records, a strategy sometimes labeled "astroturfing". The WSJ uncovered the fact that Digby had a recording contract with Disney’s Hollywood Records back in 2005. Digby, however, never revealed her professional status on her YOUTUBE channel or MySpace page, nor did Hollywood Records on its YouTube channel. She has responded, writing on her blog that she never lied about being signed to Hollywood Records and has stated that her videos were her own "desperate" response to a lack of promotion. Can u believe that her own video on YOUTUBE has been viewed for over 2.3 million times back in September 2007.

She has appeared in Last Call with Carson Daly and according to Mr. Daly, He don't think that we need American Idol or Television reality show to find a new talent while we can 'see' the real talent in Youtube. Frankly, I don't give a damn on the controversy thing and IF Marie ever come out with an album, I'm going to buy it. One thing for sure... I don't think Marie deserved to be on WSJ front page with that kinda story. What do u think?
